You can view and print out these specifications if your computer has Adobe Acrobat Reader software ( which reads PDF files). Acrobat Reader is included on most computer systems and usually automatically bundled with your web browser.

If you don't have Acrobat Reader, you may download it for free from Adobe's web site. After you follow Adobe's instructions for installation, your computer will be able to read PDF files.

1. Find track width in chart to determine square yards
2. If your track has a runout chute(s) find square yardage for transition area of each one in chart. See drawing for explanation.
3. If chute goes beyond transition area measure and multiply length x width in feet and divide by nine for square yards.
4. Measure high jump area and multiply length x width for rectangles/squares or pi (3.14159) x radius x radius divided by 2 for ½ circle. Divide by nine for square yards.
5. Measure pole vault and long jump runways, length x width, then divide by nine for square yards.
6. Measure any other areas to receive surfacing
  Add 1-6 to get your total square yards of surfacing.
